One man, 34 'Star Wars' voices: Impressive, it is

Who among us hasn't done the occasional "Star Wars" impersonation, hmm? Maybe with help from the Yoda-Speak Generator. Perhaps the easiest, Yoda is.

But it's the rare "Star Wars" fan who can compete with the twin voice reels uploaded to YouTube by August Jeske. In two videos, he offers impressions of 34 characters from the movie series.

In part one, which lasts nearly five minutes, he impersonates everyone from from General Grievous to Chewbacca (singing "Putting on the Ritz," kind of) to both the Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor versions of Obi-Wan Kenobi. He even gets in a bit of Jar-Jar Binks and a Tusken Raider, complete with arm-waving.

In part two, there's five more minutes of galactic goodies, including Darth Vader himself (he drives a Volkswagen, apparently), a whiny Luke Skywalker, hooded Palpatine, and the beloved Admiral "It's a trap!" Ackbar. Jeske even imitates minor character Poggle the Lesser, whose voice in the movie was reportedly that of an editor played backwards. He also gets in a dig at Hayden Christiansen's wooden acting as young moony Anakin.

His Han Solo is a little questionable, but most of the others are right on. Worth a listen, it is. (Via io9.com)
