If you are an internet marketer, one of the best things you can do is to begin targeted email marketing. How do you do that? You start building your list. Your list is simply a list of names and emails of people who have given you permission to contact them. It is important to focus on TARGETED email marketing, not just general email marketing. Targeted lists will respond much better than non-targeted lists, so your conversion rate will increase.
It is an undeniable fact that the best way to build your list is to offer people free stuff for signing up. This can be done on any website you own. All you have to do is find a great product such as an ebook, a pack of PLR articles, a how-to ebook, or any other useful products. Offering your potential subscribers generous incentives is the perfect way to build a responsive, active list.
You should be aggressive, but avoid spam at all costs. You should press your products often, but NEVER resort to sending tons of emails to the people on your list. People will block you very quickly if you send emails more than twicw a week or so. Also, the more you send the more likely you are to be blocked by their spam filter.
Also, be sure to give people reason to STAY on your list. Keep in mind that the initial list building is not everything. You need to continue to offer your list helpful information and free products, so that they will continue to read your emails and purchase your products.
Targeted email marketing is about building a highly targeted, active, responsive list. You could go out and buy a list of 500,000 email addresses and names, but chances are you will get horrible results. Why? Because the people who end up on purchasable lists have usually been added to so many lists that they are constantly being spammed. They end up blocking everyone or even ceasing to use that email account. This is why you should never buy an untargeted email list.
I am not saying that there are never opportunities to purchase quality lists. Some people sell their lists only once or twice, and they make sure that the people on that list are ok with their information being sold. However, most of the lists for sale on the internet are completely untargeted and rarely convert well.
Try to personalize your emails as much as possible. Even the simplest auto responder programs allow you to insert a name, and making people think that the email was sent to THEM and them only will surely help your conversion rates. You don?t want the emails you send out to look like spam. Make sure there is no unrealistic information in your emails. For instance, if you are using targeted email marketing to market a make money online product, don?t tell people that they can make thousands with little work, even if it is true, because people can smell lies and exaggerations very easily.
