A Belle Chasse man was arrested Tuesday, accused of molesting his children, according to authorities. NOLA.com|The Times-Picayune is not identifying the 38-year-old suspect to protect the identity of the victims in the case.
The suspect was booked by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office with aggravated incest, molestation of a juvenile, sexual battery and indecent behavior with a juvenile, according to arrest reports. The case was reported to the Sheriff's Office on Nov. 27 and is an extension of an ongoing investigation from another jurisdiction, said Col. John Fortunato, spokesman for department.
The suspect was indicted in November in connection with alleged sex crimes committed against three minors, according to Eric Becnel, commander of public information for the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office. Detective Aaron Verrette contacted the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office when he learned of allegations of abuse that occurred in their jurisdiction, Becnel said.
The suspect was still being held Wednesday at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna. Bond was set at $265,000.
