Brenda Ray travel to India Bhutan

We arrived at 2:30 a.m. at Kolkata Park Hotel about 30 hours after leaving Grand Rapids on Saturday a.m.. Before I go further we want to let Megan Heeringa and her parents, Chelly & Gary know that you are all in our thoughts daily. Megan is receiving good care at the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in GR. Chelly & I were colleagues at FTC&H.

Guraranteed, this trip will be an unforgettable experience. I will post a few pictures but on our first day in India, here are a few observations --

* planes & airports are HOT and Indians still wore sweaters

* water is cheap, about 20 cents US per 16 oz bottle from airport vending machine

* Sunday afternoon & eve in busiest airport in India is like a ghostown -- all upscale shops, bookstores & restaurants open but just a handfull of people. We had trusty McD -- NO beef, just vegie, chicken, fish sandwiches.
