Consider Spirituality in Developing Self Confidence

Our development is continuous from the moment we were conceived until the last seconds of our stay.

Nothing comes from nothing. And everything will eventually go to nothing. But unless we have turned into void everything would still be subject to improvement. If we have missed in childhood all the developments we were bound to undergo then adulthood is never too late to give them a shot. All it would take is to gather everything in one heap and toss them all in one try with fingers crossed hoping that all would end well.?

The end is never the end of it all though. Depending on your treatment of things, the end might as well be considered as the beginning. The start of a new trial.

All we need is to take the positive attitude and make ourselves believe that some things are meant to fail on our first trials and then luck would follow us.

Our route for development is always towards a specific goal.

And since nothing comes from nothing, it is unarguable that we were innately confident. We were all entitled to confidence unless we turn away from this gift, which by the way is the normal reaction of most people who have failed on their initial shot.

Self confidence roots from our inner drive to excel, to show the world how well a man should treat life and how to manipulate the attributes that one is endowed with.

From our birth comes the weak foundation of our inner self confidence. We are then responsible of intensifying this fortress as we age. Being unable to do so is a form of disregard towards the precious gifts that accompany self confidence.?

If you failed to develop your self confidence as a child then think of it as a loss that you must learn from.

Now, all you have to do is to muster all strength so you can start anew. You have a lifetime to change the course of your life, you have been given all the stock you need to get your world moving. Only if you would realize how beautiful your blueprints are then you could appreciate the worth you have.

If being you, as the created manifestation of God?s love is not enough for to convince you of how worthy you are, then think only of this- God took time to conceptualize everything that you are now.

Imagine, the Divine Being gave you the favor of His eternity. Then you, the creature would put all these to waste because you had failures that you cant get over with? Because you had failures that let you see the imperfections you created for yourself? Because your failures caused you to be less confident of your own beauty? Think again. Heap all your memories and let the best times shine and you will see how wonderfully you were created.

If you do not believe in all these then you might come to realize that for your own sake and happiness, you have to encourage yourself and continue the development that has for long been stunted.

Developing self confidence is never that hard to do if you truly believe that you can develop. The problem though is that you are creating too many walls against yourself and the development even before you have started your attempts. These walls would not only hamper you to see the other side of yourself but would also cause you not to jump over your present negative domain.

HTC updates Beats Audio, makes it work with any third-party app

Let's just say we were underwhelmed by the first iteration of HTC Beats on the Sensation XE. But now it looks like the technology has been revamped for the latest One handsets, so -- once we've tasted the pudding -- we might just have to revise that opinion. The new Beats is claimed to make music sound more "authentic," and whereas the previous version could only be activated inside HTC's stock music player, this time it'll work with YouTube, Pandora, Spotify and any other third-party Android app. What exactly will it do with those apps? And will it move beyond its current gimmicky bass-boost status? We'll just have to wait and listen.

BenQ Joybee GP2

The BenQ Joybee GP2 ($599 direct) palmtop projector is the follow-up to the BenQ Joybee GP1, an Editors? Choice from 2009. The new model has added some nice touches, most notably higher brightness and resolution, a dock for an iPhone or iPod touch, an HDMI port, and an SD card slot. The rest of the market hasn?t stood still, though, with palmtop projectors becoming brighter and packing in features, and other iPhone-friendly projectors coming on the scene. Despite some image problems (with both data and video), the GP2 is an enjoyable product that I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend.

The GP2 is built around a DLP chip along with an LED light source meant to last for the life of the projector. The LEDs?rated at 20,000 hours (30,000 if you stick to eco mode)?help keep the total cost of ownership down, as you don?t have to factor in lamp replacement costs. Unlike standard projector lamps, they're also mercury free?a plus for the environment.

This projector is rated at 200 lumens, up from the GP1?s 100. Other palmtop projectors are also ramping up the brightness. Last July I reviewed the 200-lumen Acer K11 Projector ($379 list, 4 stars), and even brighter palmtop projectors are in our reviews queue. The GP2 is the third projector we?ve reviewed to incorporate an i-Thing dock; the other two are both Editors? Choice products, the Optoma Neo-i ($450 street, 4 stars) and Epson MegaPlex MG-850HD Projector ($799 direct,? 4 stars).

In terms of connections, the GP2 adds a little something for everybody. In addition to the iPhone dock, there?s a mini-HDMI port, a USB type A port that fits a thumb drive, and a USB mini-B port for connecting to a computer, and an SD memory-card slot. You can play music or videos, or view photos or documents, from a USB key, SD card, or from 1.3GB of internal memory.

Another port fits an included octopus cable, which connects either to a computer via a VGA connector or to an audio/video source with 3 RCA plugs. You can change sources?either with the controls on top of the projector or with the small remote, which is shaped like a headstone but fits comfortably in a hand; the source options are displayed in a carousel-type menu on the home screen.

As a palmtop projector, the GP2 is a bit on the large side, at 2.2 by 5.5 by 5.1 inches (HWD), though it did fit into my outstretched palm with fingers fully splayed. I weighted it on a postage scale at 1.2 pounds; 2.0 pounds when I included the power adaptor and power cord. An optional battery is expected to be available soon.

The projector has a black top and white sides, which curve outward toward the top. Three sides have speaker or ventilation grilles. One side has most of the ports; the side next to the lens holds the focus ring; and the back has an SD card slot. There?s no lens cover, so you?ll want to keep the projector in its soft carrying case when not in use.?

Image Quality

The Joybee GP2 displayed an image that filled our test screen (about 66 inches diagonal) from about 5 feet away. (As is typical of palmtops, the projector has a focus wheel but lacks a zoom control.)? Data images were bright enough to be usable in a darkened room, although a couple of images showing colored lines on a black background were marginal, as the lines did not display well. When I added a modest amount of ambient light to the room, the images looked washed out.

I ran the GP2 through our standard suite of DisplayMate tests. Color generally was good, with occasional, mild yellow or greenish tints in images. To its credit, the projector shows very little of the rainbow effect that often plagues DLP projectors, in which bright areas break up into little red-green-blue rainbows when you shift your gaze or an object moves on screen.

The projector did have one notable issue. According to BenQ, the GP2?s native resolution is WXGA (1,280 by 800 pixels). However, in several data images, I saw a pattern of spurious, faint lines or bands, reminiscent of a scaling artifact in which there?s a mismatch between the image source?s and the projector?s (specifically, its DLP chip?s) resolution. ?

We?ve seen similar issues in other WXGA DLP mini-projectors lately, and the chip maker, Texas Instruments, has yet to explain the nature of the artifacts. I?m not certain if the GP2?s issue is identical (BenQ couldn?t specify the exact model chip), but the lines?which appear mostly in images with finely patterned or hatched backgrounds?are distracting. In presentations, as opposed to our test images, they?d be most likely to affect readability of smaller type. The two smallest fonts in the GP2?s type test were blurred, which is worse than usual for the WXGA projectors I?ve tested.

I viewed video on the GP2 from two sources: a DVD player over an HDMI cable, and my iPhone. Although you could use it to view movies with, it wouldn?t be my preferred method, as it lost detail in both bright and dark areas, and flesh tones sometimes took on a reddish hue. At least you?ll have decent audio at a volume that should fill a small room, from the twin 2-watt speakers.

There?s a lot to like about the BenQ Joybee GP2. Its small size and portability make it useful for anything from making business presentations to small groups to showing photos, videos, or playing music at a party. Its built-in dock lets you play content from an iPhone or iPod touch. It offers connectivity via HDMI, VGA, composite video, or USB cable. The menu system is user friendly.

The GP2?s downside is that its image quality, for both data and video, was less than optimal. The Acer K11 offers better data image quality, while the larger Epson MegaPlex MG-850HD incorporates an i-Thing dock and has great data and video image quality. But the JoyBee GP2 is versatile, highly portable, and a lot of fun?well worth considering, particularly if you want to go small.

San Francisco startup Dropbox challenges Apple, Google with photo-uploading feature for Android smartphones

SAN FRANCISCO -- Dropbox has unveiled a new photo-uploading feature for Android smartphones, potentially sharpening its competition with Google (GOOG), Apple (AAPL) and a host of other companies battling to rule the burgeoning market for online storage solutions.

With a single click, the feature will allow users to wirelessly upload high-resolution pictures straight from their smartphones onto the virtual "cloud," where the files can be accessed from any computer or mobile device.

Dropbox only offers users storage space -- the service will not provide any photo editing or manipulation features, like those provided by Google's Picasa program.

Instead, CEO Drew Houston said, the company hopes that third-party developers will step in and do precisely that.

Houston said the new development represented a small but significant step toward cultivating a thriving "ecosystem" around the Dropbox platform. In the case of photos, for example, the company will encourage independent developers to write programs to touch up photos.

"Facebook tied your friends and your social graph

into this ecosystem that offered all these services," Houston said. "We envision similar things with Dropbox."

He added: "It's a major theme for us going forward this year."

Although the first release of the app will only be available for Android phones, an Apple iOS version will be released shortly, the company said. Users get 500 megabytes of storage after their first upload and can receive up to a total of 3 gigabytes of extra free space.

Dropbox's new app, which targets a huge consumer demand for photo-sharing, was meant to "secure and solidify their position as the best file-sharing service and trying not go beyond that, which I think is a smart move." said James Staten, an analyst at Forrester Research.

With 100 employees in San Francisco and 50 million users, Dropbox is one of the most closely-watched startups by Silicon Valley investors -- and its much larger competitors.

Earlier this month, Mountain View-based Google announced Drive, a cloud storage service that was seen as a direct answer to Dropbox's dramatic recent growth.

Similarly in June, Cupertino-based Apple announced iCloud, a consumer-oriented service for Apple users that also syncs email and calendars.

And Microsoft has also recently pushed to expand its cloud offerings for enterprise computing.

Founded by Houston and a classmate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2007, Dropbox has raised $250 million at a reported $4 billion valuation.

Support overwhelms young cancer victim's family ...

Sue Kiesewetter reports for The Cincinnati Enquirer:

There is nothing Yosselin Villatoro loves more than putting the Just Dance Kids 2 Wii game into the console and dancing to her favorite song, ?I am a Gummy Bear.??

The Wyandot Early Childhood School first-grader?s smile widens as she starts singing along, swaying to the music, laughing with her 5-year-old brother, Freddy.

?I love Gummy Bears, they?re my favorite candy,? the 6-year-old tells visitors at the home she shares with her brother and grandparents, Tammy and Keith Randall.

?I like sour candy,?? she says pointing to the out-of-reach stash left over from Halloween.

These days the petite, soft-spoken girl tires quicker than she did three months ago. And she?s had to find dance moves that can be done using only her right leg.

Just before Christmas, the Liberty Township girl was diagnosed with osteocarsonoma, an aggressive bone cancer that started in the femur of her left leg and has spread to her lungs.

Chemotherapy treatments ? she will need 26 over nine months ? leave her tired and her immune system weakened.

She has already had one surgery that has left her left leg fragile, requiring her to use a walker. Another is scheduled for March 9, when doctors will remove 8 inches of her femur, replacing it with a metal rod.

?We don?t like it, but that?s the way it is,?? Keith Randall says. ?The cancer is just in the femur, not her hip bone, and that?s good news.?

At least two surgeries have to be scheduled to remove more than 80 tumors that have invaded her lungs.

?We?re hoping for the best,?? Tammy Randall says. ?It?s happened so fast, we?re still trying to comprehend it all. It was news you just don?t want to hear.?

Tammy says Yosselin misses riding her bike, is prone to falls and can?t dance like she once did.

Before the Dec. 22 diagnosis, the Randalls had begun remodeling and repairing their home. Walls were separating from the floor, due to water coming into the crawl space cause by drainage issues.

After Tammy quit her job to care for Yosselin, money became tight. The family struggled to pay medical bills and keep their cars running.

Work on the house came to a halt ? that is, until Tammy got a call from Kristan Dooley, the mother of one of Yosselin?s classmates and a middle school group life pastor at Vineyard Community Church in Springdale.

A group from the church including Dooley?s husband, Dave, the church?s elementary pastor, and her father, Mike Gilmore paid a visit while Yosselin was in the hospital. They converted the living room into a bedroom for Yosselin and Tammy, since Yosselin could no longer climb the stairs to her bedroom.

Her new room has a purple-and-green theme and is modeled after the room of Dooleys? youngest daughter. New windows were donated by Home Depot.

Sitting in a place of honor is an American Girl doll dressed as a jockey given to Yosselin by Ella, Dooley?s daughter, who sat at Yosselin?s table at school.

?It?s overwhelming how much support and help they?ve been to us,? Keith Randall says.

The team has since brought in a licensed contractor to evaluate what can be done ? the flooring is partially finished with exposed floor board ? to make the house more airtight, handicap accessible and easier for Yosselin to maneuver.

Estimates put the cost for materials at $13,000 for the four-phase project. Team members will do as much work themselves as they can. They are hoping contractors will step forward to assist the team.

?We want the family to be able to focus on taking care of Yosselin,?? Dooley said.

The Randalls are also getting help from the Lakota Wyandot ommunity through the efforts of Marilyn O?Keefe, Yosselin?s teacher and a member of Vineyard. Every week O?Keefe, brings Yosselin her schoolwork and cards from her classmates.

School families have signed up to bring meals to the family three days a week through March. A classmate?s mom coordinated the making of a quilt they gave Yosselin Valentine?s Day.

?My kids have been showering her with letters and cards, the outreach has been wonderful. You put it out there and you reach out to people and you realize how good the community is.?

Experts Tell the Truth about Pot

Image: S?bastien Thibault

In the classic 1936 cult film Reefer Madness, well-adjusted high school students who try marijuana suddenly sink into a life of addiction, promiscuity, aggression, academic failure, homicide and mental illness. The movie concludes with the ominous warning that ?The dread marijuana may be reaching forth next for your son or daughter ... or yours ... or YOURS!? Newspaper headlines of the day often reflected a similar sentiment. On February 10, 1938, a headline in the Beloit (Wisc.) Daily News read, ?Authorities Warn against Spread of Marijuana Habit?Insanity, Degeneracy and Violence Follow Use of Weed.?

Such a position on pot seems extreme. Yet just as people have since cast aside the notion that marijuana use inevitably culminates in the destruction of the mind, so have they also begun to question the concept that it is benign. In particular, some evidence suggests that marijuana can, in some cases, be addictive and that it may present other health problems as well, particularly in heavy users. That said, most people suffer no ill effects from a single or occasional use of the drug.

How Many Get Hooked?
Marijuana, which is also known as cannabis, is the most widely used illicit substance in the world, according to a United Nations report from 2002. Recreational use is widespread in the U.S., and medical use is on the rise. In a 2007 study psychologist Louisa Degenhardt of Michigan State University and her colleagues found that 43 percent of U.S. adults aged 18 or older have tried marijuana at least once. Many adolescents are drawn to the drug as well. In the large, ongoing Monitoring the Future study, researchers at the University of Michigan found that 14 percent of eighth graders had used marijuana at least once in the previous year with the number increasing to 35 percent for 12th graders. Marijuana use will undoubtedly grow in the near future because 16 states have already legalized it for medical use, and many more are considering legislation that would make it legal.

Given the drug?s growing popularity, many people have long been concerned about its potential dangers and, in particular, whether it can be addictive. People tend to use ?addiction? and ?dependence? interchangeably, although drug experts now favor the term ?dependence.? In the current version of the mental health profession?s ?bible,? the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, a diagnosis of cannabis dependence (a type of substance dependence) requires a person to meet at least three of seven criteria.

A number of investigators have addressed this issue and found that only a relatively small percentage of those who try marijuana will become addicted. For example, in a large-scale survey published in 1994 epidemiologist James Anthony, then at the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and his colleagues asked more than 8,000 people between the ages of 15 and 64 about their use of marijuana and other drugs. The researchers found that of those who had tried marijuana at least once, about 9 percent eventually fit a diagnosis of cannabis dependence. The corresponding figure for alcohol was 15 percent; for cocaine, 17 percent; for heroin, 23 percent; and for nicotine, 32 percent. So although marijuana may be addictive for some, 91 percent of those who try it do not get hooked. Further, marijuana is less addictive than many other? legal and illegal drugs.

Possible Perils
A hotly debated issue is whether marijuana is a ?gateway? drug, leading to the use of more dangerous substances. Many studies have found that most people who used other illicit drugs had, in fact, used marijuana first. Although results such as these are consistent with the gateway hypothesis, they do not prove that using marijuana causes the use of other drugs. Those who are drawn to marijuana may simply be predisposed to drug use in general, regardless of their exposure to pot. In addition, individuals often smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol before they latch on to marijuana. Should we also be asking whether nicotine and alcohol are gateway drugs?

Xbox Games For Online Gaming That Mom And Dad Should Know ...

If your child has an Xbox and they act online you willJuegos De Mario Bros Gratis frequently here them either yelling at the TV or speaking to you around how awesome it is. You will frequently see your child wanting to act fictional character playing games or shooting games because they like the action and shooting.juegos gratis de mario bros If you love to act Ring then you will love to act that kind of game online. Your child probably already plays it and that?s what he has been trying to tell you forever. juegos gratis de mario bros
If you have a computer and an internet connection you can act any online game as long as you have a subscription therefore you can create an account. I act Counterstrike and I love it. You simply get online and start playing with your friends from the game. You will create friends fast online if you act a decent amount. The more you act the better you will get. Most kids that act computer games on the internet act the most insane hours that you will ever hear. Kids for some cause discover a means to act more then 50 hours a week. It is in the stats on Counterstrike if you were to look.
The other kind of activities that you might discover your students or kids playing is the flash games on the internet. While at school I wont to act the flash games after I did my function because I had a computer class and I had computers in some of my other classes. We would get online and look for some that were fun until school was away and we could go jump on the actual servers and act actual online games.
If you have an Xbox or a Sony Act Post then you probably already recognize around online gaming. All you do is evidence upwards for the service and you act the types that are online enabled. Most online games are like Gears of War and Ring 3. You can also discover shooter types like Call of Responsibility I imagine they actually simply came away with a brand-new Call of Responsibility called Contemporary Warfare. I heard it was a good 1 but I am not certain if it is online enabled. Though I am pretty certain that you act it on the web because most of these games you can act online. They are pretty fun you normally simply leave and begin shooting upwards the other team. There are fictional character playing games and such like that but they don?t tend to create them for internet act though they do have a few of them I imagine like Final Fantasy and games like those. I am not really into the entire anime theme like the fable games and stuff; online gaming is for shooters in my opinion. If you?re an avid gamer, you? probably enjoy most genres of games and puzzles. Someone asks if you?d like to act, and you immediately state, ?I?m in!? In an admittedly everyday learn of avid gamers (and after some actually hot discussions), here are the games that they claimed were among the most addicting games on the planet.
Video Games
When it came to addicting video games, many of my gamer friends voted for the Legend of Zelda: Light Princess (for the GameCube) and WarioWare: Smooth Moves (for the Wii). The guys in the crowd were partial to the Burnout Series and the Gran Turismo series (for the Playstation). And those who were into role-playing games were vocal in their support of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (on the Xbox 360).
Board Games
All of my gamer friends love to act board games, and most called Monopoly as 1 of the most addicting games on the planet. Other conventional board games that ranked high included Write and Hazard. Some mentioned particular board games, such as Axis & Allies and Starfarers of Catan, while others stuck with Pictionary and Insignificant Pursuit.
Card Games
When it came to card games, more than a few of my gamer friends admitted to having stayed upwards all night playing . Several owned high-end nick sets and planned their activities about their every month games. There weren?t any bridge players in the group, but several mentioned learning old-time card games from their parents and grandparents. The lovingly reminisced around playing card games of canasta, rummy, hearts, and spades as they were growing upwards.
Kid?s Games
All of my gamer friends said that they came from game-playing families, and that they started playing games when they were actually young. Apart from card games like Card Game and Crazy Eights, most ranked Chutes and Ladders, Sorry!, and checkers as incomparable favorites. Those with kids said that some of the newer games for kids, like Cranium Cadoo and Pictionary Junior, were big hits at dwelling, though 1 said that her girl loved jigsaw puzzles more than any particular game ? and had over 50 in her collection!
Strategy Games
When the case of strategy games came upwards, there was an intense discussion of the merits of checkers, chess, and backgammon. The chess players in the group dismissed checkers as too simple, while the checkers players argued that the chess players were merely brainiacs. Everyone did agree, though, that backgammon was 1 of the most addicting games on the planet.
Party Games
Of course, all of my gamer friends frequently attended ?game night? parties, and all agreed that 25 Words or Less and Taboo were 2 of the most addicting games on the planet. For more arranged fun, many voted for Bunco, a mindless dice game played by 12 or more players. Everyone vouched for the fact that Bunco allows you to see with friends while rolling the dice, accumulating points, and periodically screeching ?Bunco!?
Obviously, every gamer is particular and has his or her own personal list of the most addicting games on the planet. But if you haven?t dabble in those that my gamer friends recommend, offer them a try ? you might discover them addicting as well!
The contemporary Olympics we see are frequently held upwards as a continuation of the 1st games. While the basic idea of sporting events is usual to both, there is a lot that is different.
The Olympian Games Were Not Always Thus Friendly
The original Olympics were actually simply 1 part of 4 games held during the year. The others were the Nemean, Isthmian and Pythian Games. The Olympics, nevertheless, were far and away the most famous. These games copied their name from Plain, were they were held.
The Olympics were 1st held in 776 BC. The games were part of a church festival in honor of the Greek gods. They were held in the temple put of Plain in Peloponnesus, which is located in south Greece. The games celebrated sporting accomplishment and quality as well as victory. In point of fact, victory was the simply thing celebrated and it frequently stood in place of free warfare between various factions. There was no silver or bronze medal awarded.
Every year, the Olympics were held on the second full satellite after the June 21. This would have put them in July or August of annually. The games lasted for approximately 5 days. A truce was declared for the adequate to 3 months prior to the games therefore contestants could heal from battles and train themselves.
The origin of the games has not been conclusively determined. Greek legend has it that Zeus, himself, started the games. Other legends have it that Hercules based the games. A 3rd see is that they games were created as a memorial to Pelops, a hero. Any the cause, the games have certain stood the test of time even if the original Greeks would not recognize them today.
The original Olympics had simply 1 event ? the foot race. Not until the 18th Olympiad were individual events such as wrestling, horse riding, discus and spear throwing were added. At its height, over 40,000 people would pile into a stadium in Plain to detect the events.
Given the calm tone of the contemporary Olympics, it is somewhat amazing the pankration was 1 of the most usual events of the early games. It was basically a brawl between as many contestants as entered, fighting all simultaneously, with the endure man standing declared the achiever. All Olympic events were restricted to men, to wit, women could simply detect.
Older Greeks were actually competitive, and the games were around the simply no-war outlet for their passion. Given this basic truth, it is somewhat odd that the contemporary Olympics try to disdain politics and national rivalries. When it comes to computer game rentals today, the process couldnt be any easier. A number of online rental clubs have established their dominance inside the computer game rental domain. Lets take a look at a few and what they have to offer:
GameFly and Gottaplay are among the elite rental companies known in the market today. These 2 dominant rental services have more than 4 thousand games each inside their collection to distribute at anytime. Both are equally matched in the market and both provide well optimized websites to handle the renting aspect of the field and also contain previews, trailers, and codes which many game fans will enjoy as an added bonus.
Gamers will be eager to choose from titles both fresh and older and also from consoles such as XBOX, PS2, and PSP. Not simply are the major game consoles included inside these plans, but elder systems as well including Nintendo, Sega, and Gameboy Advanced These rental plans generally range from $12.95 to $24.95 a month depending on how many games you would like to hire at a time.
When it comes close to renting video games, online rental companies are the simply alternate for most. All titles from the 2 groups mentioned above are shipped inside 1-2 business days and have many distribution points located anywhere in the U.S. When youre done with your game, you can return it in the self addressed envelope it came with and receive your next title immediately, with no belated fees, and particularly no gimmicks. Each game can be purchased at anytime if you decide you would like to maintain the title. These prices are a lot lower than you can discover most used games at your localized used computer game shop.
When you have established your computer game rental account, you may wish to check and see how long the game takes to extend to your doorstep. Gottaplay and Gamefly have many distribution centers over the US, therefore you should not anticipate to wait any longer than 4 business days from the day they send your cargo.
For experienced gamers, I would substantially suggest into checking away the superiority and selection of the leading online rental facilities mentioned above or on our review page under. You will not be disappointed, as most rental plans have offered a complimentary 14 day complimentary test.

Working-mommy myth: They're unhappy

By Eve Tahmincioglu

There?s a dirty little secret working mothers have been keeping: They?re happy.

A new study found that nearly eight out of ten employed?mothers are?enjoying being a working parent. So much for the endless talk about working mommy guilt, the mommy track and?overloaded mommies.

According to a poll by Care.com, an online caregiver resource, 78 percent of working mothers say they take pleasure in the daily grind; and 50 percent said that their own career serves as a great example for their kids.

?Most love being a great role model for their children and many feel more creative and motivated as a working-parent and even feel they add a better perspective at their jobs now that they are moms," said Katie Bugbee, managing editor of Care.com, which polled 1,000 women with children under 18 last month. (There were about 20 million working mothers with kids under 18 in the United States last year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.)

In more working mommy good news, the study also found that toiling moms seem to be finding the support they need at home; and they have big plans for their?career futures.

The study found:

  • 77 percent have a spouse or partner who participates in raising the kids.
  • 89 percent said their significant other supported their career goals.
  • 64 percent said they?feel work demands don?t interfere with their ability to be a good parent.
  • 58 percent have a goal to move higher in the professional ranks.
  • 78 percent said they don?t feel they were passed over for a promotion due to lack of work commitment.
  • And 29 percent actually said they fee more productive after becoming a parent.

The findings weren?t all rosy, especially when it comes to childcare.

The study found that nearly three out of four companies where the working moms were employed did not offer childcare benefits. And about 39 percent had to miss work during the year because of childcare issues.

?"This survey makes it clear that much still needs to be done in the workplace to support them in motherhood,? Bugbee said.

Breast Cancer Protein: A Paradox | Medical News and Health ...

(Ivanhoe Newswire) -- New research has found that a protein that protects and maintains the integrity of the breast has a more sinister role in breast cancer invasion and metastasis.?

The protein is trefoil factor 3 (TFF3), which is thought to have features for a good prognosis and is higher in well-differentiated low grade tumors.

"Our findings suggest that TFF3 is regulated by estrogen and has beneficial properties in breast epithelia. We propose that early during breast tumorigenesis, TFF3 retains its association with normal functionality of breast epithelial cells. Subsequently, with the loss of tumor cell differentiation, its function is subverted to promote the development of tumors and infiltration and lymph node metastasis," lead investigator Felicity E.B. May, Ph.D., of the Northern Institute for Cancer Research and the Department of Pathology at Newcastle University, UK, was quoted as saying.

In order to determine the role of the TFF3 protein in breast cancer, researchers had to measure its level in tissue samples from normal breasts, in situ carcinomas, invasive carcinomas, involved lymph nodes, and benign breast lesions.? The protein was in the majority of malignant and benign breast lesions.? Defined tumor types had higher levels of TFF3 and there turned out to be a positive association between the protein and micro vessel density.
?
An important finding in the study would be the strength in the relationship between the protein expression and a more metastatic phenotype in invasive breast cancer.? The protein had higher levels in primary tumors with associated metastasis as well as a higher expression in malignant cells that have metastasized away from those within the primary tumor.?

TFF3 may be one of the genes that mediate the various effects of estrogens in breast cancer.? "The paradox remains, however, for both the estrogen receptor and TFF3, that they contribute to the normal physiology of the breast epithelium yet are involved in the progression of cancer.? Our study reinforces the view that TFF3 expression merits evaluation as a prognostic biomarker and as a predictive marker of response to therapy.? It is probable that its malign effects will be mitigated by adjuvant endocrine therapy in women with hormone-responsive cancers. However, the usefulness of TFF3 as a marker of hormone responsiveness needs to be evaluated," Dr. Felicity E.B. May, Ph.D., was quoted as saying.?

Researchers also evaluated the potential of TFF3 as a biomarker of lymph node metastasis and lymph vascular invasion.? The results were that TFF3 has greater predictive power than others, including age, tumor grade, and tumor size and type.?

Twitter reveals daily emotional rhythms are consistent across cultures

Image: Andrew Rich/Getty Images

?Happy hour? is not when you might expect it to be, according to a new analysis of about half a billion Twitter messages from around the globe. On average, people are chipper when they wake up and become grouchy as the day wears on. This pattern holds true on weekends, too, but is delayed by about two hours?a trend confirmed in tweets from the United Arab Emirates, where the workweek is Sunday through Thursday. The data suggest that sleep schedules strongly influence mood cycles. The duo at Cornell University who carried out the research, published last September in Science, say that the rising popularity of online social media is allowing scientists to study human behavior in surprising new ways.

This article was published in print as "Happy in the Morning."

BRUSSELS (AP) ? Eurozone governments worked into the night on Monday, hoping to agree on a long-awaited rescue package for Greece that would save it from a potentially calamitous bankruptcy next month, but several key points of division remained, senior officials said.

Finance ministers meeting in Brussels Monday were still wrangling over how to reduce Greece's debt load further and impose even tighter control over the country's spending, and negotiations were expected to stretch late into the night. Rich countries like Germany and the Netherlands and the International Monetary Fund want to be sure that Athens can eventually survive without aid.

But after months of delays, time for Greece is running out. The country needs to secure the euro130 billion ($170 billion) bailout so it can move ahead with a related euro100 billion ($130 billion) debt relief deal with private investors. That deal needs to be in place quickly if Athens is to avoid a disorderly default on a bond repayment on March 20.

"I am of the opinion that today we have to deliver, because we don't have any more time," Jean-Claude Juncker, the prime minister of Luxembourg who also chairs the meetings of eurozone finance ministers, said as he arrived in Brussels.

An uncontrolled bankruptcy would likely force Greece to leave the 17-country currency union and return to its old currency, the drachma, further shaking its already beaten economy and creating uncertainty across Europe.

Heading into the meeting earlier Monday, ministers were optimistic that a deal could be reached.

"We now have all of the elements to achieve an agreement," said French Finance Minister Francois Baroin. "Greece knows what it has to do, and we'll watch over it continually. We also know what we have to do."

But the finance ministers were also negotiating on several fronts, trying to move Greece's other creditors to increase their commitments. Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos rushed to Brussels to back up his finance chief, Evangelos Venizelos, in talks with the IMF, the European Central Bank and representatives of private holders of Greek debt.

The goal is to bring Greece's debt down to around 120 percent of gross domestic product by 2020 ? the maximum the IMF sees as sustainable. At the moment, the country's debt load stands at more than 160 percent.

Last week, a new report prepared by the European Commission, the ECB and the IMF concluded that the new bailout, Greek spending cuts, and a planned euro100 billion debt relief from private investors would still leave Greece's debt at almost 129 percent of economic output by the end of the decade.

Ministers were exploring several options to close that gap, but as talks dragged on Monday, no final solution appeared imminent.

A Greek official said Monday morning that there seemed to be agreement on further reducing the interest rate on Greece's first, euro110 billion bailout as well as having national central banks in the eurozone, which also hold some Greek bonds, participate in the debt relief. The official was speaking on condition of anonymity because the talks were confidential.

However, other officials questioned the participation of national central banks, as well as whether the ECB would be willing to transfer profits from its Greek bond holdings back to Athens.

On the sidelines of the finance ministers' meeting, Venizelos headed into a new round of talks with representatives of Greece's private bondholders ? mostly banks and investment funds ? to explore whether they would be willing to accept further losses.

A current plan foresees private creditors swapping their old Greek bonds for new ones with half the face value, lower interest rates and much longer repayment periods.

But now some countries are pushing for bondholders to also give up on an accrued interest payment of around euro5.5 billion on their old bonds, a demand that could further discourage investors from signing up to the debt swap.

Amid the ever-changing mood over the country's rescue, some frustration was setting in among the Greeks.

"Greece comes into today's Eurogroup meeting having fulfilled all the requirements for the approval of the new program," Venizelos said. "For Greeks, this is a matter of national dignity and a national strategic choice and no other integrated and responsible choice can be opposed to it."

The Greek parliament has faced down violent protests to approve the austerity measures demanded by the eurozone. Its main political leaders have committed in writing to uphold the bailout terms even after general elections in April. On Monday in Athens, the government introduced in parliament another two pieces of emergency legislation that would introduce austerity measures including wage and pension cuts.

Despite Athens' efforts, however, some countries have indicated their patience with Greece was growing short.

"We've seen that Greece time and time again fails to satisfy the conditions that the international community makes. ... In the Netherlands, it really is an issue that you have to lend money to a country that for the umpteenth time hasn't held itself to its agreements," said Jan Kees de Jager, the finance minister from the Netherlands, which has been especially hard on Greece. "So it's indeed essential to me, and also the Dutch government, that we have control over the money that we're going to lend."

To that end, Greece is expected to be forced to set up a separate account that would ensure it services its debt. This escrow account would give legal priority to debt and interest payments over paying for government services. That would maintain pressure on Greece to stick to promised austerity and reform measures and spare the eurozone the risk of a destabilizing default.

The escrow account would, however, be an unprecedented intrusion into a sovereign state's fiscal affairs and could ultimately see Greece forced to pay interest on its debt before paying salaries to teachers and doctors.

In addition, Greece's international creditors would station permanent representatives in Athens to monitor the country's progress.

Another issue under discussion is how much the IMF will contribute to the new rescue. The fund has provided one-third of the bailouts for Ireland and Portugal and Greece's first rescue package.

"The indication is that the figure will be rather low," a European Union official said, adding however that a final decision from the fund's board is still outstanding. The official was speaking on condition of anonymity because talks were not yet concluded.

Some worry that more austerity could exacerbate Greece's problems by putting a stranglehold on growth. Prime Ministers from a dozen European countries ? including the U.K., Italy and the Netherlands ? wrote a letter Monday to EU President Herman Van Rompuy and Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso calling for growth across the bloc.

"The crisis we are facing is also a crisis of growth," the letter said. "It is now time to show leadership and take bold decisions which will deliver results that our people are demanding."
